HPL Summer Reading Challenge

Completing the Summer Reading Challenge is easy AND fun!

The theme this year is, “One City, Many Stories” which highlights the beautiful diversity of our city; you can visit each library branch this summer for a different activity about diversity!  

Help your child register for the Summer Reading Challenge here today! (Scroll down on the Library's  webpage to the registration forms available in several languages.)

  • Register by clicking here

  • Collect a game board from your local library or online.

  • Complete activities on the game board

  • Read at least 20 minutes a day. Share your favorite books online using
    #HartfordSummerReading!

  • Log your reading on your game board or online

Attend additional summer reading kickoff events at local library branches!

Visit each of our library locations this summer to complete a weekly activity on a different diversity topic! If you can't make it in person for whatever reason, they can be printed and complete at home.
